The Postsparkasse is considered to be one of the most important Art Nouveau buildings in Vienna and set new standards in architecture and construction. For the internal wayfinding system of the building we designed a custom typeface »Wagner PSK« that was derived from the original lettering in the building and forms a link between the past and present.

Otto Wagner's architecture and design style was always ahead of its time, consistently modern and functional with high aesthetic standards. Wagner's conceptual skill can be seen in the use of the numerous marble slabs and 1700 aluminum rivets on the façade of the building: These are reminiscent of an iron-clad treasure chest, a symbol of safely stored money. Wagner proved that practicality and usability can lead to intelligent, coherent, highly aesthetic solutions.

With its unique historically-inspired, modern look, the display monospace font can be used for striking purposes and as an ornamental font and is well suited in combination with modern sans-serif fonts. The character set includes 26 letters, 3 umlauts, the numerals 0 to 9 and other grammatical or mathematical characters.
