Rising Together: The Black Experience with the Police in America is a powerful exhibition that sheds light on the complex relationship between Black communities and law enforcement in the United States. Hosted at Google’s New York headquarters in 2019, it explores the historical context, systemic challenges and personal stories that shape this relationship. Through multimedia displays, interactive installations and thought-provoking artifacts, Rising Together invites visitors to explore the wide range of experiences, perspectives and struggles Black people face in encounters with the police. The exhibition aims to foster understanding, empathy and dialogue around racial justice, accountability and community-police relations.

Featuring moving photographs, oral histories and testimonies from activists, scholars and community members, Rising Together serves as a platform for reflection, education and advocacy. By amplifying voices that are often marginalized or silenced, it aims to spark conversations and inspire positive change toward a more equitable and just society.

As part of the exhibition, I also created a series of posters capturing the state of mind of being pulled over by a police officer. The posters received the Judges’ Choice Award at the STA 100 Competition in 2019. This project was a collaboration with Isometric Studio.
